If you don't know much about digital HDMI cables, then this is perfect place for you. Everything you need to know is answered in this article!

If you are like me, then you probably don’t know much about HDMI digital cables. However, I did some research and found out some interesting facts that you should know before buying digital HDMI cable.

Some question that you should know answer to before making any purchase should be: Are you running the digital HDMI cable through the wall? What type of gauge wire is necessary? Length of the cable? And last but not less important is how much should I expect to pay for that…

If you are running your digital HDMI cable through the wall, then you should definitely buy cable that is CL2 rated. What does that exactly mean? Well, in short, it means that your cable is more resistant to fire. Is it necessary? In my opinion, it’s always good to be on ‘a safe side’. Safety should always be our primary concern. Besides that, it’s important to have CL2 rated cables if you are selling your house. If you don’t have CL2 rated cables, you won’t pass inspections.

If you got problems with choosing wires, the best option would be to talk to merchant. Gauge wire depends on the length of cable. There are 28AWG, 24AWG and 22AWG cable available, 28AWG being the cheapest. If you are running a shorter cable, then 28AWG should do fine. For longer HDMI cables pick 24AWG or 22AWG cables, again, depending on length.

About the price of HDMI cables… If you are bearing in mind the above advices, then you should go with the cheapest one that meets above criterion. The difference in price is too big when compared to difference in quality. There is next to no difference in quality between high and low priced digital HDMI cables.

Most people don't know or don't understand the importance of HDMI wall plate or cable. By understanding some basics, you will pay less for the same quality!

Today, there is a growing number of different types of connection methods coming out every day. Because of that, people tend to become confused when it comes to choosing the best HDMI cable or wall plate for their homes. On top of that, those that sell cables usually forget to stress important aspects of every new available model. Instead of that, they just try to sell as expensive as possibe – for maximum profit.

So, what is exactly HDMI? HDMI is shorter for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. It was invented in 2002, and became more popular at around 2004. It’s an combination of optical audio and digital video interface (DVI).

Since most people are focusing mainly on buying HDMI cable or wall plate – they are interested in prices as well. Logically, most people want to get the most out of it for minor cost. So next paragraph will make some things much clearer.

The cost is determined by brand. Well-known brand means higher prices. But on the other hand, HDMI is completely digital connection. In other words, that means that it will either work or it won’t work. There is no middle option. So basically, in my opinion, the brand means nothing.

I usually highly encourage everybody to buy HDMI cables and wall plates. It’s literally both time and space saver. Besides, most retail stores that offer HD items will support HDMI.

The best tips and useful information for buying HDMI wall plate or cable online or in your local store!

If you want to buy new HDTV – you will certainly need a lot of money for that. Bearing that in mind, most people thoroughly research the market and look for the best quality to cost ratio. Unfortunately, they tend to forget to look for HDMI wall plate or a HDMI cable.

Even though prices of HDTVs are much higher than prices of HDMI wall plates or cables, I’m sure they are at least as important as HDTVs. In most cases you will easily find HDTV for a discounted price if you look for it well enough. Will that be the case with wall plates or cables?

Most people don’t even know how much HDMI cable or wall plate costs. They tend to think that their price isn’t important because it’s just a ‘small part’ of what I’m paying for using one of the best TVs available nowadays.

Buying HDMI cable can cost you up to 200$. If you are asking yourself how can price be so high, then you need to take a deeper look at a general situation on the market. You see, sellers may only have a profit margin of around 2-6% on the HDTV, but at the same time, they could have a profit of astonishing 80% on HDMI cable or HDMI wall plate. I hope you understand why you should look harder to find a cheap cable.

Basically, cheap HDMI cables and wall plates do exist and they are everywhere, but you have to search for it. Unfortunately, sellers advertise only those things that will bring them profit – without worrying about costumers. So if you want to buy HDMI wall plate or cable – use search engines to look for discounted or ,should I say, ‘normal’ prices.

HDMI Wall Plate - useful information and other various facts about wall plates!

HDMI wall plate is important for every home. Generally, it used for integrating cables into your house or apartment wall. Loads of people buy it every day to improve their homes.

But why is it exactly important?

That is an extremely useful “device” because it makes you able to basically have your most of your very long cables inside your wall with only a short cable coming out of the wall to electronic device…

That is very good invention because it makes our interior decorating much easier as well as modern. Also, we don’t get that feeling of having way too many cables around as before. Just think about it – TV, DVD, sound system… Everything adds up and in the end we have too many cables. That looks kinda messy and untidy.

You can use your HDMI wall plate has many different purposes. For example, one friend of mine uses it to run HDMI from PlayStation to LCD which are both in separate rooms. It fits well into room as well.

HDMI wall plate can come in many different colors. It would be good to choose color based on the color of your interior and your walls. It’s always good to have wall plate color that match wall color.

Good advice is to take a closer look at what you are buying. Most HDMI cables have 1.5 inches plastic casing around the plug. That could cause problems because because it is pretty weak and it could detach from the plastic. I would suggest others to buy 2 inch HDMI cable extending from the back for you to attach to.

Another important decision to make is whether to choose dual or single port HDMI wall plate. Besides, you are probably asking yourself what’s the point of buying HDMI 1.3…

By buying the HDMI 1.3 wall plate, you are adding option for supporting next generation of HDMI when it becomes popular.

Single or dual port HDMI – always go for dual if you can and if money isn’t problem even though difference in price is neglectable. All modern HDTV’s usually have 2 HDMI ports so it seems kinda logical to buy dual port wall plates. Besides, you never know when you might need an extra HDMI port.

If you want to buy HDMI wall plates, you can do a search on the internet. There are numerous online stores that contain wall plates. On a side note, HDMI wall plate can be bought in local store as well.

When buying online, please make sure that you double check if the picture on the website is the same as a HDMI wall plate you are buying. That usually isn’t the case so I’m warning you.

But notice that, HDMI wall plates aren’t made of metal or any similar material. They are made of plastic so you *could* expect to be kinda disappointed if it comes broken to your home. Then you should use electrical tape to tape it together.

As far as functionality is goes, almost every HDMI wall plate will do its job. The only bigger difference is design – everything else is the same for every wall plate.

It’s easy to set up and you shouldn’t need any additional instructions. Even though it’s easy, you should pay extra attention to the screws that are holding HDMI wall plate and connector. They are small and plastic. If you aren’t careful, they can brake with ease. I know a guy who was simply pulling it away from the wall and it had snapped. Was he incautious? I don’t know, but you should be careful..

After installing HDMI wall plate, you might experience problems with no sound on your DVD or something like that. That really happens rarely. But in case it does happen, simply turn your DVD device off and the on. That should do the trick.

If you have a mess of wires hanging around, then you should definitely consider buying HDMI wall plate. If nothing, it doesn’t cost you a lot. You can get it for as cheap as around 10 bucks, but then quality is questionable…

Another good thing about HDMI wall plate is that it could have a status light – that way you can always verify whether connection is working or not.
